What's wrong with cocktail elephants hanging by their properly curved trunks? Could be a signal from the bartender that your Green Light has just turned red.

You, Shop Boy, should know all about monkeying around with cocktails. Now they'll raise the price of Green Lights. See what your greediness has done.

Like you, I live in fear that I'll ruin my wordpress blog one day. I made a mistake on a "featured content" widget recently and the whole thing went black.

Hi, Charles.

Thanks for reading!

The No. 3 can do anything it sets its mind to.

As for the Green Light, it's simple but deadly:

Equal parts Bombay Sapphire, Cointreau and freshly squeezed lime juice

The story: Mary's book club was reading Malcolm Gladwell's "The Tipping Point" and decided that it would be fun to "tip" something in the Baltimore market. Mary and Shop Boy were, ahem, experimenting and had come up with a very worthy cocktail, a bastardized version of an old drink called The White Lady (with lemon juice).

We decided to try to tip it. But we needed a backstory, and a name. The Green Lady didn't quite work. But what about The Green Light? Yeah, yeah. So there's this frustrated screenwriter out in Hollywood who finally gets a project "green-lighted" and asks his favorite barkeep to invent a drink to mark the occasion.

We'd go to bars and begin ordering it, explaining to the stumped bartender how it is made. Then we'd have our friends go in and order it from time to time, and see if it caught on.

Bingo. Soon, we were walking into the Brass Elephant (R.I.P., sniff!) to see a line of strangers sipping Green Lights. And it only expanded when someone someone knew got a little item about it placed in an in-flight magazine on flights to Baltimore.

I could use one about now.

I laughed out loud...this is your best narrative to date. And that really means something, because you spin an excellent yarn. I hope this means you're getting a little extra sleep??? (Having people around to feed you ain't so bad either.)
